Wool and fibre workshop activity day, Friday May 1st

April 25, 2015 § Leave a comment

Hi everyone,

Thanks, Tanya for organising the excursion to Altona Homestead, it was a lot of fun!

This week, Kelly will be giving a short workshop on wool and fibre followed by knitting lessons for those who would like to learn.

wool and needles

Please bring a pair of straight knitting needles and some yarn.  4mm, 4.5mm or 5mm needles are a good size for learners.  These can be obtained at an op shop, or even at Spotlight; they’re not expensive at all.

If you have spare needles, please bring them along for others to use.

God Bless,

Altona Homestead Excursion, Friday April 17th

April 13, 2015 § Leave a comment

Hi everyone,

This week we will not be having the activity day in the hall. Instead, Tanya has organised an excursion to Altona Homestead:

128 Queen Street (Logan Reserve)
Altona, 3018
Melways: M54:G11

There will be two guided tours, each tour can take up to 20-30 people. The first begins at 10:30am sharp. The Second at 11:15am. The tour includes a 5 minute talk on the history of the homestead, and then an hour of showing the items in the house and what they would have been used for. Afterwards we will share morning tea at a nearby playground.

God Bless,
