Stained glass window craft activity, Friday March 24th

March 20, 2017 § Leave a comment

Hi Everyone,

The next activity will be a stained-glass-window craft with the Lenten theme, “Waiting for the Risen Christ“.  The activity will be run by Celia and her daughter, Bernadette.

The children will cut designs out of black card, or choose a ready-made design (more suited to younger children) and fill in the empty spaces with the beautiful glowing colours of stained-glass windows.  Please bring a glue stick and scissors.  Keep in mind that sharp scissors are necessary, so each design should be cut by an adult or older child.

As we move to Laetare Sunday (the 4th Sunday of Lent) our windows will serve to remind us of the rapidly ending period of penance!

BYO glue stick and scissors!

I hope you can join us.

God bless, Christina

Hi Everyone,

I hope that your holiday was restful and that your second term is off to a flying start. The next activity will be this Friday April 22nd, it’s a show and tell day.

I have heard that a few of the children have already been preparing short dramatic / musical performances. There will be a keyboard set up if anyone needs it. The aim is to give each child an opportunity to experience speaking or performing in public, in a safe, friendly environment. Should be fun!

God bless, Christina

Thank you to Samantha for running the May crowning last fortnight.

In 2015 the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus falls on June 12th.

The Sacred Heart of Jesus represents not simply His physical heart but His love for all mankind.

This Friday I will be running a craft activity for the younger children, and the older children will have the chance to make a consecration to the Sacred Heart before the Blessed Sacrament (weather permitting.)

God Bless,
Christina

Bring your own favourite game, Friday August 9th

Hi everyone,

Many thanks to Daniel for the soccer games  and to Kelly for running the “Choose your own art adventure” activity.  You know the lesson is going well when you take a step back and observe the effort and co-operation displayed by children across a spectrum of ages.

Games can stimulate skills in creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork, and yes they’re great fun too.  So this week we’re giving each of our children the opportunity to “bring your own favourite game” and show us what makes it great for you.

It’s all about about thinking differently and sharing your knowledge and enjoyment.   I think this will be a great activity day for all the children. Show us what  fires your imagination!

Hope to see you there,

Christina

Art adventure activity, Friday July 26th

Hi everyone,

Fr Dishan was very generous in his time and efforts for our sake, at the last activity day. Thanks to Rebecca for organising Fr’s visit.  He’s a wonderful young priest.

So here we are, already into the 3rd term and looking forward to the end of winter. This week Kelly has chosen the theme, “Choose your own art adventure“.  Knowing Kelly, it’s bound to be creative, engaging and a lot of fun.

Weather permitting, Daniel will lead the littler ones in some soccer games.

I’m so happy we’re back!

Hope to see you there,

Christina
